Well This Must Be It, Welcome to The New Year

As previously stated, 2012 wasn’t too shabby for me folks. I think I managed to achieve most of my goals, however I did neglect the health related ones.

It’s this time of year again: set the goals (I refuse to call them resolutions) and hopefully stick with them.

Goal 1:

Be healthier. While I did lose some weight in 2012, I still am not where I should be. I don’t want to set a goal to lose x amount of weight. Instead I want to go to the gym at least 3 times a week, and limit eating out to once a week.

Goal 2:

Decorate the apartment. Troy refuses to move until we buy a house, so I want to make this place homier. I want to buy some new furniture, put up some pictures and reorganize my work area.

Goal 3:

Keep on trucking with work. I know my potential. I need to build a fantastic team and show everyone what we are made of. I’m still pretty new to this management crap, so there will be a learning curve.

What are your goals? How do you keep yourself motivated?

I had other goals, too, the kind you’d see on the cover of any women’s magazine (right next to a teaser for “The Best Brownies Ever!”) I wanted to lose 40 pounds by 40. That’s not going to happen. In fact, I’m pretty sure I put back on most, if not all, of the weight I lost pre-Sandy. I’m pretty bummed about that. But I also have this new confidence in my ability to control the physical. I lost it once, I’ll lose it again. I’ve never had faith that I could succeed in slimming down. Now I’m sure that once I have a kitchen again, nothing will hold me back. And that focus on future success instead of past failure is very motivating.
